Application Procedure

If you do not hold a Flemish degree, you can start your BBA application process here using our Application Tool. Please read very carefully below to see what information we will require and how to pay the application fee, if applicable.

If you do hold a Flemish degree, please read below for the application procedure and necessary form.


 You are eligible to register for the BBA programme if:

  • you obtained a secondary school diploma and
  • you can prove access to higher education in your home country (only relevant for students with a non-Belgian diploma) and
  • you can provide evidence of proficiency in the English language and mathematics

If you do not meet the language requirement or lack confidence or skills in the core subjects of the BBA programme, you may consider applying for the English and Economics for Academic Studies.


Flemish degree

If you obtained a degree that is awarded by an institute of the Flemish Community, you can register online as of May 2012. If you prefer to register in person, please visit the Student Administrative Services Centre at Campus Brussel during the Open Days and from 13 June till 7 October 2012.  You will need to submit the following documents to complete your application file:

  • a copy of your diploma of secondary education (last year students from secondary education can already apply)
  • a copy of any diploma, transcript of academic records or diploma supplement (if you were registered in higher education before)
  • a copy of your national identity card
  • one recent passport-size photograph


International Degree or Degree awarded by the French/German Community in Belgium

If you obtained a degree that is awarded by the French or German Community in Belgium or an international degree, fill out the online application tool and send the following documents to HUB:

  • a signed application form in the Application tool 
  • proof of payment of the €63 application fee1
    If your diplomas were awarded by an institute in Belgium or the Netherlands you are exempted from this application fee.

  • a certified2 copy and translation into English (if not available in Dutch, French or German) of your diploma of secondary education (listing courses and marks)
    Last year students from secondary education can already apply if you include a statement of expected graduation
  • proof of access to higher education in your home country e.g. results of national entrance exams, admission letters from recognised universities, transcripts of academic records of years at university, statement issued by national/regional educational authorities (only relevant for students with a non-Belgian diploma of secondary education who have not obtained a diploma of higher education at a recognised institute of higher education)
  • a certified2 copy and translation into English (if not available in Dutch, French or German) of any diploma and transcripts of academic records (listing courses, credits and marks)
  • evidence of proficiency in mathematics3: SAT Reasoning Test Math 550 or ACT Math Test 22. 

If you obtained a diploma of Secondary and/or Higher Education which is awarded by a secondary school/university/university college from a country of the Council of Europe, you will be exempted from the mathematics test admission requirement

  • a copy of your national identity card (for Belgian students) or a copy of your international passport including – if you already have it – a copy of a valid visa and/or valid residence permit (for non-Belgian students)
  • evidence of proficiency in the English language:
    • IELTS 6.5 or
    • TOEFL iBT 79 or CBT 213 or PBT 550 or
    • SAT Reasoning Test Critical Reading 500 + Writing 500 or
    • ACT with the following two minimum scores: English 20 + Reading 20 or
    • Certificate in Advanced English (CAE) or Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE) grade A, B or C or
    • TOEIC Listening 490 + Reading 455 + Speaking 200 + Writing 200.

    If you obtained a diploma of Secondary and/or Higher Education which is awarded by an institute of the Flemish Community or the Netherlands, or if you obtained a diploma from an English-taught programme of Secondary and/or Higher Education from a country of the 'Inner Circle'4, you will be exempted from the English language test admission requirement.

    HUB's institutional codes to be mentioned on the exam paper are TOEFL: 7039, SAT: 5749 or ACT: 5393. IELTS, TOEFL, CAE and CPE test report are valid for two years; SAT and ACT test reports are valid for five years. We can only accept original test reports (no copies). If you do not have the original test report form, please ask the test centre to forward one to HUB. Register for tests as soon as possible because some test centres have limited test availability. Students who haven’t taken the IELTS or TOEFL test yet and who plan to take it are recommended to take IELTS Academic or TOEFL iBT.

  • a motivation letter, incl. study objectives
  • 2 recent passport-size photographs
  • APS certificate (for Chinese students)


1 An application fee of €63 should be transferred to HUB's bank account (see details below) before submitting your application file. Without payment of this fee your application will not be dealt with. This application fee is non-refundable. However, it will be deducted from your tuition fee once you officially register at HUB.

2  A certified copy is a copy of a filed document that is sworn to be a true copy by the awarding body, a The Hague Apostille or Belgian commune. 

3  If you obtained SAT Reasoning Test Math 500 or ACT Math Test 19, you can be accepted for the BBA but you must take the 'slow track' for Statistical Methods for Business Economists and Mathematics for Business Economists.
