What is the difference between MBA focus Business Information Management (BIM), MBA focus International Business Management (IBM) and MBA focus International Relations (IR)?

  • MBA focus BIM

The MBA with a focus on Business Information Management is a mix of strategy, information systems development, information systems management and infrastructure (bits and bytes).  It covers the development and management of information systems and related technologies in a business context. Students with an MBA focus BIM degree will be employed in (multinational) companies to bridge the gap between top management and the ICT department. It is a specialized programme but it is not designed for students who want to become IT-specialists, such as programmers.  We offer a programme for prospective managers who know the current IT-related issues in companies and can take decisions.

  • MBA focus IBM

The MBA with a focus on International Business Management invites you to take a helicopter view of a wide range of intensive and specialized courses in all fields of relevance to managers. It helps you acquire the knowledge and skills you need to pursue a management career in business. It is a more comprehensive programme: students get to know a lot about all different domains of the business (strategy, entrepreneurship, management, …) so they can take decisions in those domains when they are employed as managers. The programme is very international (international management, international marketing; the student body itself).

  • MBA focus IR

The MBA with a focus on International Relations is embedded in the context of global economics and business life.  We analyze strategies of multinationals and international organisations, both from a theoretical and a practical point of view.  We cover, among other things, international management and marketing techniques as well as international social-economic analysis and monetary economics.  Students get an insight into the role of governments in international relations and business.  Further we analyse and discuss the interplay of legal, political and economic factors in a globalising (business) world.

What are the job opportunities?

  • MBA focus IBM

Graduates find jobs in a variety of management positions in multinationals, SMEs and public organisations because employers care about the general business skills that they develop in the MBA programme (analytical skills, information processing skills, management skills).  The wide scope of the MBA programme is a great simulation of today's work environment in which students are encouraged to deal with different situations in quick succession (being able to analyze and assess situations quickly, take right decisions). That is why MBA students integrate easily in companies and jobs.  And that is exactly what employers like!
