About Flanders
Flanders is the northern, Dutch-speaking part of Belgium and consists of five provinces: Antwerp, Limburg, East Flanders, Flemish Brabant and West Flanders. The Flemish region borders on the North Sea, with 65 km of beach. Flanders covers 44,8% of Belgium's 30 528 km² and accounts for some 60% of the total population. The region provides 60% of the national GDP. Flanders' economy is strongly export-oriented. The main export products are automobiles, food, iron and steel, finished diamonds, textiles, plastics and petroleum products.
