Language Learning

The language of instruction at HUBrussel is Dutch, though English is widely spoken. There are plenty of opportunities to take langauge courses at HUBrussel. French for foreign students (level I and II), Spanish for beginners, English communication and business skills are organised at HUBrussel. For more information, please contact your programme coordinator. By the end of August, HUBrussel also organises a Crash course Dutch for Erasmus students, but throughout the academic year you can enrol at a language centre.

At the Centrum voor Levende Talen (Leuven) you can take language courses on an academic level. English, French, Spanish, Chinese, Swedish, Italian, Russian Turkish ... courses are organised at a reasonable price. Take a look at the website.

Learn Dutch

• Huis van het Nederlands (Dutch Language House of Brussels): offers Dutch language courses.
• Taaluniversum (Dutch Language Union): provides online information on Dutch language courses in Flanders and the Netherlands and on different aspects of the Dutch language.
• Taalhuis (Language House): you can learn Dutch online, look up words in the online dictionary or have a laugh at the funny mistakes in Dutch/English.
• Taaladvies (Language Advice): provides information on all aspects of Dutch, including tips on writing and pronunciation.
• Distance learning: you can learn Dutch or another language from home.

Learn German

• Goethe Institut: provides information on German culture, language learning in Brussels, activities and active ways to learn German.

Learn French

• Alliance française Bruxelles: promotes and disseminates the French language and culture. It also provides information on French courses for students and teachers.
• Learn a language online: you can learn French online. Choose a course and subscribe online for a two month class. The online courses are free if you are unemployed.

Learn Spanish

• Instituto Cervantes: provides information on Spanish courses in Brussels, cultural activities and active ways to learn Spanish.
