At the Airport
When you arrive at Brussels National Airport (or any other European Union entry point), the first stop will be Passport Control. Depending on your citizenship (EEA or ‘all other’) you will have to queue at the appropriate desk.
Non-EEA students will need to show their passport, visa, and maybe their admission letter of the HUBrussel, to the Immigration Officer.
Remember, keep your documents safely in your hand luggage; you will have no access to your checked luggage before you have cleared passport control. In case you encounter problems at Immigration Control, keep the telephone number of your coordinator at hand.
After clearing Passport Control, you can collect your luggage from the conveyor belts in the reclaim area.
The next stop will be the customs hall. If you are unsure about what you can and cannot bring into Belgium, you should check with your Belgian Embassy or Consulate.
Once you are finally out, you either go to your HUBrussel campus or go directly to your short- or long-term accommodation.
The easiest way to do so is to take a taxi, but the 15-minute ride can cost you between 25 and 30 EUR. Two cheaper options are the bus and the train. Both cost around 3 EUR for a single ticket and can be taken directly at the airport. Take a look at the Public Transport section.
We'll see each other soon!
