Second International Week at HUB

On the 21st of November 2011 Hogeschool-Universiteit Brussel launched its second international week for staff members of the partner institutions. During one week colleagues from Belgium, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Poland, Russia, Spain, Turkey and the United Kingdom followed a tailor-made programme in Brussels. The programme was a carefully tuned mixture of sessions on the different sections of the administration at HUB: International admissions, Internationalization and exchanges,  Education & Quality, Library, Social Services, etc. Complementary, there was also a social and cultural programme with e.g. a guided tour through Brussels, a museum visit and a Belgian dinner. Highlight of the week was the Global Village on Thursday. This is a country fair, where students and colleagues are informed by incoming - and  former exchange students and international colleagues through booths for each exchange destination of the academic educational division. Approximately 460 students and colleagues visited the Global Village. The International week was closed on Friday by a whirling speech of the dean of the Faculty of language and Linguistics,  Prof. Dr. R. Sleiderink followed by a “Belgian” reception of the famous beers and cheeses. After the success of the 2011-2012 edition, we are looking forward to organizing the third International week of HUB in November 2012.
