Mission Statement
Hogeschool-Universiteit Brussel (HUB) fosters a student-centred culture. HUB aims at developing the talents of its students as well as stimulating him/her in his/her personal growth and social commitment.
Education at HUB revolves around one basic principle: practice-based education built on science, i.e. practice-based but always founded on science.
All study activities are characterised by thinking, daring, doing, and persevering.
They will serve as a basis for self directed as well as continuous learning.
HUB considers studying as a process of “experiencing together”, i.e. experiences are shared between curriculum and practice; lecturers and students; between students themselves; and between lecturers themselves. At the same time HUB believes that being successful in studying also requires personal guidance, and a strong and supporting organisation.
Studying at HUB is choosing for Europe and the world. In our opinion “diversity and interculturality” are added values. We experience our presence in Brussels as a unique chance to foster world citizenship.
HUB invites every HUB community member to share such values as personal responsibility, intellectual freedom and openness, respect for the other, solidarity, and service to the community.
HUB opts for an open, plural, and caring society inspired by our many-sided Christian heritage.
HUB has faith in the future, in its staff as well as in society and aims at continuously looking for ways to change for the better.
The HUB mission is one of total commitment and public accountability.
