Legal Status

HUBrussel consists of two legal entities, both non-profit organisations, of which one is a college (vzw HUB-EHSAL) and the other a university (vzw HUB-KUB). Both are so-called statutory registered institutions or traditional institutions which were already recognised by the Flemish education authority (education in Belgium being a Community Competence) before the introduction of the European (Bologna) reforms in higher education in 2003. Both receive public funding for their education and scientific research.
